Manual Handling

Manual Handling Training is essential mandatory training for all workplaces. 33% of employee absences from work for more than 3 days are attributed to Manual Handling injury’s (HSA).

Our hands-on Manual Handling training courses are adapted to reflect the working environments of course participants. We deliver this course all over Ireland for companies in all industries.

Course Objective:

Our practical hands on courses are designed to give participants the knowledge and skills to conduct manual handling in a safe manner to prevent injury and meet the requirements of Health, Safety & Welfare at Work Act 2005, General Application Regulations 2007.

  • All courses are delivered by a qualified QQI Level 6 Instructor.

The course usually consists of a 50/50 split between theory and practical. It is tailored to suit the industry of the trainees.

Assessment:

Short written test and skills demonstration.

Course Duration: 3 hours

Certification:

Certified by Choice Training & Consultancy after successful completion of manual handling training and assessments.

Participants: Maximum 12

Refresher Training: Certificate valid for 3 years.

You can become a Qualified QQI Level 6 Manaual Handling Instructor after taking our 4 day course. This enables you to deliver Manual Handling Training onsite, in-house or suitable for those who wish to be freelance trainers.

Online Manual Handling Training:

We offer an Online Manual Handling Course, the theory can be completed online and trainees will receive a passport to practical assessment. The practical assessment can be completed by an in house QQI Level 6 Manual Handling Instructor or our qualified assessor can meet your employees to carry out a short practical assessment to meet the requirements. This takes approximately 15 minutes per employee, preferably in their natural working environment. This works very well for companies when it is not feasible to release employees for a half day for training.
